Smoothie - recipe by Allyson Gofton

A great way to get fruit and protein into your diet.

 

Preparation: 5 minutes  Serves: 2

 

Ingredients

1                cup strawberries (125 grams) trimmed and halved

1                scoop ice cream

1 ¼            cup 'dark blue top' milk

5               tablespoons McLeod Nutrition® Whey Protein Concentrate

Dash vanilla essence, optional

 

Method

  1. Put the strawberries, ice cream, milk and McLeod Nutrition Whey Protein Concentrate and vanilla essence if using, into a blender or processor and process until very smooth. It will become lovely and thick. Serve immediately after making.

 

Variations

  • Use other fruit such as raspberries, boysenberries, mango, banana etc.
  • Vary ice cream flavours.
  • Use other milk varieties as required ( an ice cream if required).

 

Note to recipe

  • If using frozen fruit, defrost first as frozen fruit will make quite an icy version.
